What is conflict?
We explore the definition of conflict, why it happens and the most common situations where it occurs. We look at how to recognise it and look at ways to prevent it.
Conflict Styles
The delegates will complete a questionnaire to determine what their natural response to conflict will be. We will provide feedback on each style and identify when it is more appropriate to use one rather than another.
Conflict Observation
We undertake a group role play, following a case study likely to bring out conflict, observing individual conflict styles as they appear.
I+ U+
We look at the concept of I+U+, which will provide the delegate with useful insight in how to prevent conflict by thinking about the other person’s point of view. We will also look at creating positive outcomes.
Emotional Intelligence
Building on the previous session, we discuss the power of emotional intelligence and astute relationship management in dealing with conflict. We will look at common mistakes and some success stories.
Role Play
The delegates will be given the opportunity to carry out role play exercises supported by case studies.
Feedback
Final wrap up and feedback to the group.

Each delegate will have gained a better understanding of how and when conflict arises, their preferred way of dealing with it, and some useful tips on how to manage conflict more effectively.
