Who and What are Stakeholders?
We look at the definition of a stakeholder and examine the influence they have to make positive or negative contributions.
Stakeholder Maps
We begin to develop a stakeholder map for each delegate that will become a working document. We discuss how to begin to build intelligence about each stakeholder and how to record the information. We then discuss how this can be built into a strategy for each stakeholder and a tangible plan of action.
S.W.O.T Analysis
We explore the use of analysis tools to determine what our stakeholders really think about us and how this information can be used to develop a strategy for dealing with them.
People Styles
We introduce the various techniques used to better understand ‘people styles’ such as Myers Briggs. We ask the delegates to assess their own style and identify opposing styles. We also get them to assess the styles of their stakeholders to better understand how to deal with them.
Negotiating and Influencing
Using role play, we explore some useful negotiating and influencing skills and allow the delegates to practice some of these skills.
Emotional Intelligence
We explain the importance of emotional intelligence and discuss its use and definition in companies today. The delegates get the opportunity to practice these skills by bringing real life business problems to the table and look at techniques available to resolve them.
Feedback
Final wrap up and feedback to the group.
Objectives
Each delegate will be able to effectively prepare a stakeholder map, identify who their key stakeholders are and compile a strategy for dealing with them. They will understand the power of emotional intelligence in dealing with people and develop key soft skills to deal with a variety of different people styles.
