What is Coaching?
We look at the definition of coaching and the other methods that can be used such as mentoring and counselling. We also look at what makes a good coach and what they should set out to achieve.
Coaching Questionnaire
The participants will complete a coaching questionnaire to assess their suitability to become coaches.
Why Do it?
We provide a ‘business case’ for coaching and look at setting coaching objectives to improve performance.
Coaching Models
We explore the different coaching model available and focus on the GROW model.
Practical Exercise
Working in pairs the delegates get the opportunity to practice their coaching skills.
Emotional Intelligence
We cover the importance of emotional intelligence for the Manager in relation to coaching their staff.
Future Planning
We look at how the delegates can put tangible action plans in place for their employees and how to set up a coaching action plan.
Feedback
We look at giving and receiving feedback as part of the coaching process and how to make it a positive experience.
Objectives
The delegates will understand the different ways to support their teams including mentoring and counselling. They will also have gained basic coaching skills and be able to create a robust coaching plan for their teams.
